Sodium Hypochlorite
water treatment chemicals
Cas #: 7681-52-9, Sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) is produced as an aqueous solution by combining chlorine gas (Cl2) and caustic soda (NaOH), both of which are the result of the electrolysis of salt. It has a very strong biocidal effect. It’s main application is the disinfection of swimming pools, disinfection of water intakes and its treatment for consumption. Due to its oxidizing properties, the product is used in the chemical industry as an oxidizer of organic products in the chemical synthesis process, production of intermediates used in the pharmaceutical industry.
